Chelmsford Public Schools - Long Term Substitute Grade 2 Teacher


The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following vacancy. The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.

Position: Long Term Substitute Grade 2 Teacher

Location: Byam Elementary School

The successful candidate will assume the role and responsibilities of a Grade 2 Teacher for a temporary assignment from March 25, 2021 for approximately 6-12 weeks. Dates are subject to change. Responsibilities include: Coordinate efforts with specialists assigned to provide additional specific services. Confer with parents to promote better understanding of the pupil and his/her environment. Assist and guide ancillary personnel. Attend meetings and prepare and maintain all related records and reports reflecting activities as required or directed. Perform other duties as directed or as responsibilities necessitate.

    Byam Elementary School has a student population of roughly 425 students from kindergarten through fourth grade. Byam prides itself on educating the whole child and creating a caring and supportive environment for every student to learn.     Job Requirements

    • Successful candidates will hold the appropriate degree and MA DESE Teaching License in the subject and grade level.
    • BA degree required. BA degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education preferred.
    • 1-3 years classroom experience preferred.
    • Please bring official transcripts to the hiring supervisor if interviewed in the event that you are recommended for hire.
