Job Description

Job Title: Certified Speech Language Pathologist

The Teaching Environment: Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School serves students with a variety of learning needs and styles in a fully-inclusive, co-taught classroom environment. Students rotate between their academic and vocational courses on a weekly basis.

The Team: The speech and language pathologist work in the Student Support Services department, which coordinates and administers a program of special education, guidance counseling, and student health services. The Special Education Coordinator directly supervises special education teachers and related service providers who service students on IEPs, while the Director of Student Support Services oversees the department as a whole.

The Role: The Certified Speech Language Pathologist will work with the team to assess and evaluate students, develop and implement IEPs, participate in team meetings, document outcomes, and collaborate with other teachers to ensure student success.

Teaching During COVID: Southeastern is currently operating on modified hybrid schedule that includes a combination of in-person and remote learning. Students who require additional supports attend in-person each day. Teachers work from campus on most school days, including days when their students are learning remotely.

The Ideal Candidate: All candidates must possess an active license Speech/Language/Hearing Disorders from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, ASHA certification, and MA state licensure as a speech and language pathologist. The ideal candidate also has prior training or experience in reading and assistive technology.
