Job Description
Full-time, 11-month (school year, 5-week summer school and orientation days) position requiring professionalism, maturity, initiative and a positive, proactive, student-oriented style. Provide direct and ongoing supervision, instruction and support to all assigned students, while coordinating day-to-day operations of a dormitory. Provide a highly-structured and therapeutic dormitory environment designed to promote growth and independence through assessment, direct instruction, positive reinforcement and the setting of clear and consistent expectations. Meet the individual and collective needs of assigned students relative to their unique learning styles, social/emotional needs, and the fostering of independent living skills.

Desired qualifications include a degree in Human Services, Education or related field and/or experience working with children and adolescents with learning differences and/or intellectual disabilities within a residential setting. A current valid driver's license and CORI/Fingerprint clearance required.

      1. Demonstrate an understanding of the School mission and adhere to all policies and procedures.
      2. Experience working with students with learning and intellectual disabilities and/or a willingness
      to engage in professional development to gain the knowledge necessary to effectively work with
      the Riverview student profile.
      3. Participate in ongoing professional development and in-depth orientation training provided by
      the school. Work on all mandatory days, which are communicated at the start of the school
      4. Actively engage in and model positive participation during activities and school events.
      5. Demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills.
      6. Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
      7. Comply with School, OSHA and Board of Health safety guidelines and training.
      8. Maintain current CPR, First Aid and EpiPen certifications.
      9. Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with students, families and co-workers.
