Job Description

1.) Must possess Teacher Assistant Certification AND one of the following 3 requirements:
a.) Passing score on ParaPro assessment or
b.) Evidence of Associate's Degree or higher or
c.) Completion of at least two years of study at an institution of higher education.
2.) CPI Training
3.) Experience working with students requiring assistance with self-regulation, augmentative communication supports, and visual aids.
4.) Experience working with students requiring assistance with self-help skills (including toileting and feeding) and daily living skills.
5.) Experience working with assistive technology to regulate arousal (suspended equipment, trampoline, weighted vest, fidgets, therapy ball, seat cushion and vibrating toys)
6.) Experience supporting communication and social interactions with peers and adults.

    Northern Elementary is a grades pre-k through five public school located in Lincoln, Rhode Island. We provide educational services for over four hundred students from our immediate and surrounding communities. Classes at Northern are held in more than twenty-five classrooms and support facilities. In addition to the regular education classrooms Northern provides facilities for; Student Resource, Physical Education, Art, Music, Library/Media, Academic Enrichment, and Special Education.
