Job Description

The Ivy Street School is a small, year round, private residential special education school for adolescents ages 13-22 who have acquired brain injuries and/or other neurological disabilities.

We seek an experienced, creative high school level, special education teacher with ability to differentiate and modify curriculum to meet a wide range of needs. Classrooms have 6-8 students with the support of a teaching assistant. The position, under the supervision of an administrator, involves teaching, unit planning, technology integration, IEP writing, grading, etc. Supervision and support are provided. The position involves use of behavior support and structure within the classroom setting. An appreciation for working with diverse populations and believing in high expectations is essential. The hours are Monday-Friday from 8am-3pm!

Requirements:

-BA/BS in Special Education, Education
- License in Special Education 5-12 required.
-Previous experience working with students with disabilities
-Driver's license and clean driving record.
-Current CPR and First Aid certificates, or ability to become certified upon hire.
