Job Description
Long Term Substitute FLES Spanish Teachers
Watertown Public Schools are seeking an Elementary Spanish teacher to cover a leave of absence approximately 3/25/2021-5/28/2021. We are hiring a dedicated, team-oriented, and collaborative educator. Elementary Spanish teachers will teach Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 4th grade classes for 30 minute instructional periods. As of this posting, Spanish classes will be conducted remotely in the 2020-2021 school year. FLES Spanish Teachers will collaborate with each other, the World Language Curriculum Coordinator, and a team of General Education teachers to develop the curriculum for all grades. Spanish teachers will also collaborate with each other on writing daily lesson plans.
Watertown is committed to the practice of teaching foreign languages for proficiency. Candidates should have a strong background in the ACTFL proficiency guidelines for teaching and learning a second language.
A successful candidate should have experience teaching at the Elementary School level (primary grades preferable) and be DESE licensed in teaching Spanish for grades PreK-6.
