Job Description

The Trinity Catholic Academy Upper Campus (grades 4-8) school nurse will perform professional nursing duties consistent with Massachusetts guidelines, regulations and statutes governing nursing, school health, and local district policy. Outstanding organizational, written and communications skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills are essential for this position.

The Nurse will be responsible for reviewing medical records of new students registering with the school. This position will work collaboratively with Trinity CAtholic Academy’s Lower Campus (PS - grade 3 )school nurse and will report directly to the Head of School.


-Responsible for reviewing and researching if needed the medical records required for student registration
-Responsible for contacting parents/guardians if needed to obtain additional medical records
-Adheres to all policies and procedures of the Massachusetts DESE.
- Responsible for assessing and treating acute and chronic medical conditions


-MA Dept of Health Rules and Regulations of School Health Programs
-MA Nurse Practice Act regulations relative to accountability and legal parameters of nursing practice
-Knowledge of the organizational structure of school systems.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills; communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
-Solid knowledge of FERPA and HIPPA regulations
-Proven experience in data keeping and analysis techniques


-A valid license to practice as a registered nurse, issued by the Department of Health
-Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university
-Proficiency in working with computers; working knowledge of SNAP, Google Docs and Google sheets and/or Microsoft products


-Frequently required to stand, sit and walk
-Specific physical abilities include the ability to use computer monitors for long periods of time, as well as the ability to communicate verbally in person and on the telephone
