Job Description

Windham Southeast Supervisory Union is looking for motivating, engaging, and diverse educators and encourages all who are interested in diversity, equity and social justice to consider working with us. We are searching for Special Educators who are passionate about working with young people and helping them to prepare for the future.

WSESU is seeking a Social Worker to serve at Brattleboro Middle and High Schools within a special education team to support students with social/emotional challenges and accessibility to the general education classroom environment. Job responsibilities include providing consultation on student social/emotional needs to classroom teachers, designing and implementing preventative interventions, developing behavioral intervention plans, leading student social skills and counseling groups, and assisting with crisis management as needed. Successful candidates will possess a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) and experience providing services in a school setting. Additionally, candidates must have effective communication and problem solving skills, promote and maintain positive relationships with students, families, state agencies and community partners, and utilize trauma-informed educational practices to support student well-being.

    Job Requirements

    • Applicants must be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Vermont AOE as a School Social Worker. Successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proficiency in the Google platform.
    • Master degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
