Job Description

Cape Cod Tech is hiring a teacher for its Engineering Technology program. Candidates should possess strong content knowledge as well as a desire to teach and work with young adults.

Teacher responsibilities include providing high quality and coherent instruction based on the MA Curriculum Frameworks in Engineering Technology. Familiarity with Project Lead the Way Principles of Engineering and 3D CAD design software such as SolidWorks is helpful. The teacher is also tasked with promoting the learning and growth of all students through instructional practices that establish high expectations and creating a safe and effective learning environment, developing partnerships with families and community members and working to maintain an ethical, culturally proficient and collaborative teaching practice.


Cape Cod Tech, located in Harwich MA, offers robust, hands-on technical education to high school students living in a twelve-town district. Students obtain industry certifications and credentials as well as their high school diploma to prepare for careers and college.     Cape Cod Tech is a public vocational technical high school in Harwich, Massachusetts. The school has 15 technical programs in addition to academic studies. During two week technical blocks students are under the close supervision of skilled technical instructors who stress safety and learning-by-doing. The technical shop atmosphere replicates the real world environment that the successful graduate will experience on the job. During two week academic blocks students participate in a wide-variety of challenging academic courses in English, math, social studies, science, physical education, health and wellness, technology, business and foreign language - Spanish. The rigor of the English, math and science curricula prepares our students for success on the state MCAS test. Students in grades 9 and 10 have English and math during both academic and technical blocks (they have them every day). Advanced academic courses are offered including AP courses. Many graduates go on to 2 and 4 year colleges and universities, while many others enter the skilled workforce. An adult education program in the evenings offers technical training and a variety of other classes to our communities.     Job Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree or higher related to the subject matter and skills to be taught (Engineering Technology)
      Three years of full-time employment experience directly related to engineering technology
      Preferred candidate possesses a MA Chapter 74 teacher's license in Engineering Technology or must obtain the preliminary license during the first year of employment by taking and passing the MA Chapter 74 written and practical exams in Engineering Technology as well as the MA Vocational Technical Teacher Literacy Test (VTEL) or MA Test for Educator Licensure (MTEL)
      Teachers can work for five years under a Preliminary License during which time most teachers take the necessary coursework to earn a Professional License.
      Must pass fingerprinting and background check per MA General Law
      Citizenship, residency or work visa required
