Justice Resource Institute’s Bay Cove Academy in Brookline is looking for their new full time School Nurse LPN to support students daily.

What we do
Bay Cove Academy is a small, therapeutic day school located in Brookline, Massachusetts serving adolescents, ages 12-21, from the Greater Boston area. Approved by the Massachusetts Department of Education and nationally recognized by the US Department of Labor for its Career Development Program, the school provides a highly structured, learning environment for teens whose educational and social needs exceed those which traditional public and private schools can accommodate. Teachers, educational aids, nursing and all other roles work together to support students in achieving their goals.

Role of the LPN
Our Bay Cove School Nurse LPN will be highly organized and professional. Under the supervision and direction of a Division wide Registered Nurse, the School Nurse will provide medical and psychiatric nursing care to our students in coordination with outside healthcare providers and collaterals.
The School Nurse LPN will administer medications and treatments; follow doctor’s orders and individual medication awareness programs; report possible medication side effects to a Registered Nurse; assist with coordination of student’s medical and psychiatric appointments; and assist with the medication counts and management on site. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing routine medical care and responding to medical emergencies during school hours; nursing documentation; assisting with school audits of medical records; providing in-the-moment coaching and support, and modeling trauma informed care through the ARC treatment philosophy throughout the school.

Role Requirements
•Current Nursing License (LPN)
•At least two years direct experience in the provision of nursing services to psychiatrically or emotionally complex adolescents preferred; experience in an adolescent treatment settings preferred.
•Current CPR and First Aid required.
•Acceptable CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and OIG background check
