Job Description

Come be part of our family! This position will work out of Mount's new school counseling and college planning center. Mount provides personalized attention with a caseload of 170. The position may include delivery of the middle school curriculum as well as a caseload of senior college applications. Mount seeks the ideal candidate to be part of its highly rated school counseling program.

Communicate Christian values through the quality of his or her relationship with students as well as through the articulation of his or her personal values. The teacher is an adult model of Christian values.

Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences

Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities

Prepare classroom for class activities

Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs

Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment

Use relevant technology to support instruction

Observe and evaluate student's performance and development

Assign and score summative and formative assessments

Provide clear, actionable, and timely feedback on work

Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students

Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development on the portal in a timely and efficient manner

Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures

Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school

Apply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary

Perform certain pastoral duties including student support, counseling students with academic problems and providing student encouragement

Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations

Participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings, professional development

Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs

Keep updated with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities

    Job Requirements

    • The successful candidate must pass a background check after receiving a conditional letter of employment from Mount. The appropriate state issued teacher certification is required for the position.
