Job Description

Meeting Street is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing services to children and families, offering a range of programs in education and special education, childcare, social services and therapies. We provide a place where children of all ages and abilities receive individualized attention from highly trained, dedicated educators, therapists, and staff who work as a team, sharing strategies and identifying solutions to bring out the best in each and every child. At Meeting Street, we believe in the power of inclusion and foster it in all we do. Our goal is to create an environment, and ultimately a world, where individuals of all abilities learn, play, work, and live together.

The Childcare Health Consulting (CHC) Program at Meeting Street provides a hotline that all childcare centers can contact to receive advice from Registered Nurses regarding health and safety protocols, both general and related to COVID-19.

About this Role:

Nurses in the CHC Program will receive inbound inquiries and provide timely customer service and support to group-based childcare providers and staff regarding public health best practices and protocol, with a specialized focus on COVID-19. Nurses will be responsible for responding to all inquiries, advising clients, recording all data related to their interactions, and making referrals to the RIDOH COVID unit as necessary. As COVID-19 concerns lessen over time, Nurses will begin to visit childcare centers to provide health and safety checks, and to advise on more general health-related concerns of childcare providers.

Nurses will partner with a team to identify trends and provide ongoing, targeted learning sessions about infection control, implementation of the COVID-19 Child Care Licensing Regulations and RIDOH & CDC guidelines. They will support childcare providers' ongoing implementation of regulations, guidelines, and health and safety standards.

They will be responsible for keeping up-to-date with training offered by the Department of Health, Department of Human Services, and most recent research and CDC guidance, and updating the CHC curriculum

Key Skills:

Familiarity with pediatric healthcare and childcare environments
Up-to-date knowledge of COVID-19 symptoms, social distancing and isolation protocol and treatment
