Job Description

Fontbonne Academy is a Catholic prep school for girls’ grades 9-12, located in Milton, MA, and is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston. We are also a leading Early College program for high school students in Eastern Massachusetts - drawing from the South Shore and Greater Boston areas. Fontbonne's academic program, co-curricular activities, and daily life seek to instill in young women qualities of leadership, intellectual openness, social connection, and spiritual strength.
We are seeking an Executive Director to work collaboratively with our Head of School and have a dual/shared responsibility and authority for the overall management and leadership of the institution.

Position Overview
The Executive Director serves as the chief revenue generator for the institution. The Executive Director is responsible for setting and achieving advancement (fundraising) and enrollment goals consistent with Fontbonne’s Strategic Plan; and for directing all aspects of financial management.
The Executive Director serves as the primary liaison between Fontbonne and its Board of Trustees, the Sisters of Saint Joseph, the Archdiocese of Boston, area parishes and schools, and the broader civic and business communities with respect to advancement and enrollment initiatives.
The Executive Director supervises a number of staff members in the areas of Advancement, Events and Sponsorship/Community Engagement, Enrollment, Marketing and Communications and administrative support.
Responsibilities
As the leader of the school’s advancement and enrollment efforts, the responsibilities and duties of the Executive Director include the following:

Strategic Planning and Management/Reports
In collaboration with the Advancement Committee of the Board of Trustees, develop a three-year Strategic Development/Fundraising Plan with specific and measurable goals and objectives.

Provide regular activity, revenue, and budget reports to the Finance, Advancement, and

Enrollment Committees of the Board of Trustees, and the CSJ Finance Office.

Advancement
Build and oversee a best in practice Advancement program to attain Fontbonne’s strategic goals and objectives. Implement effective strategies to achieve revenue goals and engagement targets, instill a culture of philanthropy, and develop constituent giving programs for alumnae and parents.
Develop a major gifts program including identification, cultivation and solicitation of major prospects and donors.
In collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications, design and implement an integrated, constituent-oriented marketing and fundraising communications strategy. Develop compelling case and impact statements, campaign messaging, and ongoing communications with prospects and donors.
In collaboration with events coordination staff, plan and oversee effective cultivation, fundraising, and stewardship events.
Conduct corporation and foundation research, solicitation, and proposal writing.
Develop and manage Advancement department budget.

Enrollment
Develop, execute, and evaluate outreach, recruitment, and yield strategies.
• Utilize and evaluate print, web, email, social media, and video recruitment tactics.
• In collaboration with the Director of Admissions, maintain up-to-date admissions data (inquiries, applications, acceptances, and deposits).
• Establish best practices for data gathering and marketing of Fontbonne to prospective students.
• In collaboration with the Head of School and Director of Marketing and Communications, develops materials and communication plans that emphasize Fontbonne’s mission, rigorous academic programming, reputation as the Early College of Boston, and diverse/ inclusive culture.
Develop and supervise an effective enrollment team.

Financial Management
Oversees business operations pertaining to institutional finances and annual budget.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Seven-ten years’ experience in Advancement/Fundraising and Enrollment Management with proven record of success.
Experience managing teams and working collaboratively with both internal and external constituencies.
Experience in an all-girls college preparatory institution is preferred.
Knowledge of, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Rediker Sustain.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends and moderate travel.
