Job Description

Academic Advisor and Interventionist (2020-2021)
Under the supervision of the Director of College Counseling and Advising, this position will provide academic supports and interventions for grades 7-10.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Direct student services including instruction, appraisls, academic advisement, and interventions.
•Individual student academic advising, planning and goal setting for grades 7-10
•Classroom lessons based on student success standards
•Collaboration with families/teachers/administrators/community for student success
•Data analysis to identify student issues, needs and challenges
•Participate in professional development
•Learn Blackbaud system and assist with scheduling (rescheduling) for students in grades 7-12
•Assist with the registration, test prep plan, administration and analysis of testing programs with the school (PSAT, SAT, NWEA Map)
•Assist Director of College Counseling and Advising with administration of student records and transcripts for alumni of school; manage all requests for high school records, references and verifications
•Assist with the School Wide Advisory Program
•Other duties as required by school needs.

    Job Requirements

    • •Bachelor’s degree required
      •Master's degree in education, school counseling, or related field preferred
      •3-5 years professiona experiencel at an urban school
      •Proficiency in Blackbaud, Naviance, Microsoft Suite, Google Classroom Platform, and other technical resources
      •High level of interpersonal and communication skills
      •Ability to work with and respect a diverse community
      •Any exceptions to these requirements as determined by the Principal
    • At least 4 years of relevant experience preferred
    • Bachelor degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
