Job Description

Archbishop Williams, a Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory, Grades 7-12 school located in Braintree, MA, seeks a full-time Business and Benefits Manager to maintain the school’s financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, and to oversee its employee benefits program. The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and the President. Prior private school accounting experience of 3-5 years is strongly preferred.

    Job Requirements

    • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
      Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), accounting and payroll responsibilities of the positions include:
      Preparing monthly reconciliations and analyses of accounts, supporting work papers and monthly financial reports as part of the month-end close process
      Accurately recording all deposits including tuition and donor gift revenue in Quickbooks
      Processing checks and maintaining supporting documentation
      Managing the tuition payment and financial aid process in the school’s FACTS tuition management system
      Assisting the CFO with the annual audit process, including preparation of audit work papers, account analysis, reconciliations and all supporting documentation, and interfacing with external auditors, as needed
      Ensuring that payrolls are processed timely and accurately
      Setting up new hires and updating employee changes, termination, garnishment, deductions, etc. in Paychex
      Maintaining the highest degree of accuracy and timeliness of Benefit program coordination and services for employees
      Supporting the CFO with other financial duties as needed, including preparing for Board and Finance Committee meetings, and preparing annual budgets

      QUALIFICATIONS
      Impeccable integrity, character, discretion and professionalism
      Bachelor’s degree in Accounting of Finance preferred
      Demonstrated experience maintaining accounting/financial reporting operations, systems control and procedures, preferably in a school setting
      Strong work ethic and analytical skills
      Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
      Proficiency in QuickBooks, Paychex, Microsoft Excel and Word, and FACTS Tuition Management System
      Ability to work in a team environment with all levels of management and staff
      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
      Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Church and Archbishop Williams High School
      Personal behavior consistent with the values of the Roman Catholic Church
