Job Description

Mount Alvernia Academy, a Franciscan Catholic elementary school, is seeking a full- time fifth-grade homeroom teacher for the 2020-2021 academic year. Ideal candidates will have a strong English Language Arts background and prior teaching experience in an elementary school setting. Applicants should have a love and respect for students and be committed to instilling a passion for learning in each child. Experience with integrating Chromebooks, Google Classroom, and various applications and technology to enhance learning is essential. In addition, candidates must demonstrate excellent written and verbal competencies; have excellent organizational skills, have the ability to multitask; be able to coordinate projects and schedules in a fast-paced environment; be a positive team player with a desire to contribute and share their gifts and talents with students and administration of the school; communicate and collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues; follow established curriculum; be able to differentiate instruction and to level questioning; and participate in professional learning communities, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions.
