Job Description

Windham Southeast Supervisory Union Special Education Teacher(s) 2020-2021 School Year Windham Southeast Supervisory Union is looking for motivating, engaging, and diverse educators and encourages all who are interested in diversity, equity and social justice to consider working with us. We are searching for Special Educators who are passionate about working with young people and helping them to prepare for the future. WSESU is seeking a 1.0 FTE Special Education teacher to work part-time at both Dummerston and Putney Central School to provide direct instruction and case management for students with disabilities. Applicants must have familiarity with multi-tiered systems of support, experience and skill differentiating academic curriculum, ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers and paraeducator staff, proficiency in teaching specialized literacy and math curriculum, competence in using technology to facilitate student communication/learning, expertise in data collection and formative assessment, and experience implementing positive behavior intervention plans. Knowledge of Vermont special education regulations, IEP and evaluation compliance procedures, trauma-informed practices and disability characteristics is essential. Applicants must be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Vermont AOE as a Special Education Teacher, Consulting Teacher or Intensive Special Education Teacher. Successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in the Google platform. This position follows the WSESU school calendar and will require travel between schools.
