Job Description

League School of Greater Boston, named “Best Special Needs High School” for 2019 by Boston Parents Paper, is a year-round program dedicated to the education of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Our team approach to education creates a collaborative, supportive and open environment within our community. We are currently seeking a Chief Operating Officer to start July 1, 2020 at our Walpole campus.

    Job Requirements

    • Education/Experience/Critical Skills: *Master’s degree in education, social work, psychology, human service administration or related fields. Advanced degree preferred (Doctorate). *Minimum of five years direct experience working with developmentally-disabled individuals, preferably those with Pervasive Developmental Disorders, including Autism. *Minimum of five years’ experience in an administrative capacity. Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational management skills required. *Appropriate level of knowledge of program development and operations, especially as it relates to program expansion, connecting programs to funding, creatively generating and applying resources, and building strategic partnerships. *Experience and knowledge of state licensing requirements (e.g., DESE, DEEC). *Excellent oral, written and presentation skills, as well as established coalition-building skills with an ability to balance, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Basic Function: Provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the school has the proper operational controls, administrative, and reporting procedures, and human enterprise systems in place to ensure programmatic quality, efficiency, and financial strength. Carries out the organization’s goals and objectives, as established by the Board of Directors and Executive Director. Directs the daily operations of all programs and facilities of the organization in accordance with established policies. Develops strategies for future business performance, marketing, industry placement, and overall quality control of operations. Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 1. Under the guidance of and in collaboration with the Executive Director, works to implement the mission and vision of League School of Greater Boston. 2. Provides day-to-day leadership and management of all operational aspects of the school. 3. Responsible for driving the school to achieve programmatic and business goals and objectives, as well as measuring the effectiveness of all internal and external processes. Provides reporting on operational condition of the school. 4. Spearheads the development, communication and implementation of growth strategies and initiatives. 5. Collaborates with other members of Senior Management to develop, enforce, and improve operational infrastructure and processes, including technology. 6. Fosters a culture of respect, trust, integrity, success, and accountability. 7. Collaborates with Chief Financial Officer on budget development, cash flow, and resource management, and the presence of effective systems and controls. 8. Works with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic planning across all operations. 9. Develops strong relationships, and represents the school, with clients, districts, government entities, and other business partners and trade organizations. 10. Provides support to program leadership and their teams while driving continuous improvement initiatives that maximize the effectiveness of critical program support services. 11. Delivers support to the Executive Director through coordination of ad hoc projects which provide critical support to the Board of Directors. 12. Acts as primary liaison to all licensing agencies and government entities. Supervision requirements: The Chief Operating Officer reports directly to the Executive Director. The Chief Operating Officer will provide supervision and evaluation to the Principal, Coordinator of Clinical and Family Services, Admissions Coordinator, and Coordinator of Residential Services, and will work cooperatively with the Chief Financial Officer, Human Resources Manager, and other members of Senior Management Team. Direct supervision may extend to other senior staff members, as assigned by the Executive Director Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word: Microsoft Excel: Microsoft Internet Explorer; Microsoft Office and Google Mail.
