Job Description

Cathedral 7-12 High School in Boston seeks a full-time Religion Teacher who may instruct students in any grades 7 through 12. The ideal candidate has experience instructing in religion subject areas, experience working in an urban school, and experience with student-centered learning and the applied learning model. Performance Responsibilities Instruct religion classes (see CHS Program of Studies) Attend department and curriculum meetings to support student outcomes Participate in school-supported, ongoing professional development Develop teaching outlines and lesson plans, give lectures, facilitate discussions and activities, keep class attendance records, assign homework, and evaluate student progress Willingness to espouse Cathedral ways of being Participate in school-supported, ongoing professional development Interface regularly with faculty, staff, and families Reports to: Principal Terms of Employment: Full-time, school year (180 days) Start Date: August 2020 Compensation: Salary negotiated based upon experience; with benefits

    Job Requirements

    • 3-5 years of relevant classroom experience Experience with project-based learning and the applied learning model Bachelor’s degree required. Master's preferred Familiarity with online/distance academic programming Experience using various technological formats of teaching Experience in secondary student schools, preferably in an urban setting Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
