Coordinator of Software Development

SALARY: $57,960/YR and a full benefits package.

EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the Coordinator of Software Development in accordance with WV State Code §18A-2-12, WV State Board Policy 5310, and KCSBOE Policy Performance Evaluation of School Personnel - Administrative Procedures.
JOB SUMMARY: To design, write procedures, and/or web applications for complete web data processing systems. To assist the Director of Information Systems and to perform other data processing tasks as assigned.

  • Design, create and implement web applications for requesting departments/schools.
  • Design, create and implement reports for requesting departments/schools.
  • Design, create and implement databases for requesting departments/schools. 
  • Design, create and implement web applications displaying/collecting information from/to databases for requesting departments.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot web problems on our servers.
  • Document/maintain systems to provide for security and continuity.
  • Communicate effectively utilizing the best method of communication for each circumstance.
  • Resolve internal and external problems directly (whenever possible), fairly and professionally.
  • Utilizes self-appraisal for the improvement of administrative skills.
  • Take responsibility for creating a positive working environment and good employee morale.
  • Demonstrates unbiased attitudes in fulfilling administrative responsibilities.
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science preferred, minimum of 2 years of experience in a web/software development position.
  • Thorough knowledge of web design for forms, active server pages displaying and collecting data.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, interdepartmental, and vendor communication skills; both verbally and written.
  • Ability to function with little supervision.
  • Thorough knowledge of online telecommunications.
  • Thorough knowledge of data processing and its role in business particularly as it relates to online systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of software and hardware systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems and software requirements to convert mechanical and clerical processing to automated computer systems.
  • Proficient in SQL (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access).
  • Proficient with Visual Studios
  • Proficient in these programming languages: VB.NET, C#.NET (ASP.NET framework and MVC4 engine)
  • Proficient in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX
  • Proficient using Content Management Systems such as WordPress.
  • Working Knowledge of Active Directory Structure.
  • Experience in interfacing with Document Management Systems such as M-Files.
  • Experience with SOAP and REST is a plus.
  • Experience with GIT or SVN version control is a plus.
  • Experience with WP Gravity Forms is a plus.
