Job Description

Duties (include but are not limited to):
• Demonstrate knowledge of subject(s) through instructional practices
• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of learning goals
• Use both formative and summative assessment information to provide students with feedback, which is corrective and informative
• Familiarity with Common Core State Standards
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior conducive to an effective learning environment
• Develop written lesson plans in advance
• Direct and supervise the work of paraprofessionals, volunteers and student teachers assigned to the classroom
• Use creative teaching approaches developed specifically for at-risk students
• Maintain productive lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues concerning both the academic and social progress of all students
• Implement administrative directives in a professional manner (re: new programs and policies)
• Adhere to all District policies and regulations

    Job Requirements

      • Bachelor’s Degree in the related content area
      • Eligible to hold Vermont Certification in Social Studies
      • Background in World History is highly desirable
    • At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
    • Bachelor degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
