Job Description

Duties (include but are not limited to):
The Director will be responsible for serving youth during the program and is under the supervision of the MAUHS Principal. The Director is also responsible for:
• Work as liaison between school and community entities, developing appropriate sites for participants to create positive experiences for the student and the mentor/site supervisor.
• Maintain participant files and supervise students at sites throughout the year.
• Coordinate assessment rubrics and reflection activities for students.
• Prepare budget.
• Develop and implement curriculum for Field Study and Community-based learning experiences that enable students to attain chosen standards.
• Supervision of student attendance, behavior and productivity when off campus.
• Plan and implement Sophomore Career Summit.
• Prepare reports as requested by the school district, the county, and the state.
• Attend training as required.

    Job Requirements

    • QUALIFICATIONS –
      • Bachelor’s Degree in related educational field.
      • VT Certification as Work Based Learning Coordinator OR VT Certification in related educational field and ability/willingness to secure certification as Work Based Learning Coordinator within 2 years.
      • Experience working with youth in schools or other youth serving agencies.
      • Knowledge of Vermont’s Work-Based Learning Gold Standards and Vermont State School Board rule 2120.2 “Flexible Pathways” high desirable
      • Ability to plan, implement and evaluate work-based learning programs, which requires:
      • Knowledge of the local community, including specific knowledge of local business, industrial, educational and professional organizations/resources
      • Knowledge of and ability to educate students in 21st Century employability competencies
      • Ability to maintain accurate records and keep participant files up-to-date and complete
    • At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
    • Bachelor degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
