Job Description

Nantucket Public Schools is looking for a Team Chair to help lead special education meetings, coordinate services, provide support to special education staff and collaborate with administrators and school psychologists. Responsibilities include completing paperwork requirements for TEAM meetings (team meeting notes, notices such as the N1 and N2, invitations and attendance sheets), conducting SLD observations, chairing meetings, determining eligibility and committing financial resources, reviewing and editing and providing input on IEPs, participating in MTSS meetings and ensuring that timelines and legal mandates are followed. This position is a new position and will be shared between two schools (Cyrus Peirce Middle School and Nantucket High School) which are located in one building. The TEAM chair will report to the Director of Special Services and the two principals.

    Job Requirements

    • Masters degree is required.
      Licensed in Massachusetts as a Special Education Teacher, related services provider (such as SLP, BCBA or School Psychologist), or Administrator of Special Education.
      Excellent working knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding special education.
      Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred
    • Master degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
