Job Description

The Special Education Coordinator / Evaluation Team Leader will be responsible for assisting administrators, teachers, and staff in the proper functions of the Special Education Department in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities include the following:

Schedule and manage all TEAM meetings, including initial eligibility, annual and re-evaluation meetings.
Assist with the provision of services for students’ individual needs in the least restrictive environment compliant with the service delivery grid of their Individual Educational Program (IEP).
Facilitate the development of IEPs.
Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations, including timelines.
Provide educational consultation to teachers, staff, service providers, and parents that will enhance their understanding of the needs of students with disabilities.
Provide support of special education teachers and service providers in daily activities and mandated paperwork requirements.
Monitor completion of progress reports.
Perform other duties and functions as deemed necessary by the Special Education Director, Principal, and Superintendent.

    Job Requirements

    • - Master’s Degree
      - Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education licensure
      - At least three years experience as a special education administrator or teacher, guidance counselor, school psychologist, school - adjustment counselor, or speech-language pathologist
      - Knowledge of the IEP Team process
      - Experience as a Team Chair or Evaluation Team Leader in a technical-vocational school setting is preferred.

    • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
    • Master degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
