Job Description: A full time, highly qualified school librarian for grades 1-3.

• Promote a lifelong love of learning and reading in all students
• Build a school library program that aligns with the district’s curriculum and strategic plan
• Empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, and skillful researchers
• Ensure equitable access to information
• Ensure that students and staff are effective, ethical users of ideas and information
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists
• Promote and support instructional technology
• Stay current in professional practices
• Serve on decision making teams
• Foster a flexible learning environment for students and staff
• Research, develop, and maintain the library collection and curriculum resources.
• Administer the school library budget
• Supervise parent volunteers
• Supervise the annual book fair
• Participate in school duties
• Administer grades 3 times a year

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with district policies.

    Job Requirements

      • DESE Certification

      DEGREE: Master’s degree preferred

      EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years of experience as a school librarian at the elementary level preferred.
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
