ART TEACHER

The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.

Position: Art Teacher

Location: Chelmsford High School

General Description: Responsibilities to include:
Teach Digital Art classes to include: Computer Graphics, 2D and 3D Animation, Advanced Computer Graphics, Introduction to Digital Photography

Administer common assessments for all classes.
Attend all building and department meetings.
Participate in all department and building professional activities.
Adhere to State and National Visual Art Standards and district curriculum in the art classroom.

    Job Requirements

    • Successful candidates will hold the appropriate degree and MA DESE Teaching License in the subject and grade level.
    • Bachelor's of Master's Degree or equivalent with a major in Art.
    • Art teaching experience
    • Understanding of knowledge and pedagogy required to teach digital art classes, including proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Flash, Maya and Photoshop.
    • Excellent communication skills and capacity to foster cooperative team work.
    • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
