Job Description

The Barre Unified Union School District is seeking an experienced administrator to lead the coordination of a comprehensive preK-12 educational program for approximately 2,400 students and a teaching staff of 290. There are two preK-8 elementary/middle schools, one union high school, and one career center that also serves students from neighboring towns outside the district. In FY 2020, three legacy local districts consolidated to form the Barre Unified Union School District. The current year budget is $45 million.

Barre City and Barre Town, incorporated separately, are located in the heart of Central Vermont in Washington County. Barre City has approximately 9,052 residents and is the 4th largest city in Vermont (after Burlington, South Burlington, and Rutland). Barre Town is home to four surrounding villages, including East Barre, Graniteville, South Barre, and Websterville, with a population of approximately 7,924.

We are seeking an experienced, innovative, community-minded, dynamic, and visionary education leader with strong financial and administrative experience to work with a 9-member board, 5 principals, the career center director, and all other certified and non-certified staff.
