Job Description

Milton Town School District is seeking an energetic, positive, innovative special educator to join our middle school. Candidates must have middle-level experience and be knowledgeable in the Common Core State Standards, trauma-informed practices, restorative circles, and be able to demonstrate innovative instructional practices using Robert Marzano’s instructional practices. Start Date: January 27, 2020, or potentially sooner.

Position Responsibilities

2. Implement district policies; follow school practices/procedures.
3. Assume supervisory responsibilities as assigned.
4. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development.

6. Collaborate with other school and district staff members to achieve the district’s mission and school’s annual goals.
7. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal or designee.

    Job Requirements

    • Vermont Teaching License or equivalent professional endorsements
      Preferred 3 Years’ Experience
      Working knowledge of the CCSS
      Working knowledge of trauma-informed practices or a willingness to learn
      Working knowledge of Marzano’s instructional framework or a willingness to learn
      Basic understanding of restorative practices & tier one circles or a willingness to learn
    • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
    • Bachelor degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
