Mascoma Valley Regional High School

REPORTS TO: Athletic Director
SEASON: Early August to late October, with postseason tournaments to follow.
SCHEDULE: Weekly practices and games typically on the weekend.
SKILLS REQUIRED: Previous football coaching at the high school level and experience with teenagers preferred. The candidate should be detail oriented, must meet or be willing to complete all Mascoma Valley School District and NHIAA requirements, be able to travel with the team to and from away contests, and work with other coaches within the football program. The coach will be expected to lead by example within the program and be a positive role model for the players, while focusing on individual skill and personal development, safety, fair play, and sportsmanship. 6 days/week, 3 hrs/day

  • Welcome to Mascoma Valley Regional High School!

    The Mascoma Valley Regional High School is located in a rural area in W. Canaan. The current enrollment is 319 students in grades 9-12.
    The high school is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The faculty is working with the UNH SWIFT Schools program to enact the recommendations in the most recent NEASC report.
    The school offers a range of advanced placement courses including: statistics, calculus, chemistry, biology, English, European history and art.
    The school has a robust music and theater program, a strong art program, and a physical education curriculum that offers outdoor opportunities in hiking, biking, cross country skiing and snow boarding. Two Foreign Languages are offered (French & Spanish). Mascoma sends some students to the Hartford Area Vocational/Technical Program.
    This program allows students to explore careers in food service, health, STEM and several other areas.
    Mascoma High School offers many extra-curricular clubs and sports teams. Students can participate in Life Skills, SPEAK, soccer, basketball, volleyball, football, cross country, field hockey, softball, wresting, baseball , drama club, quiz bowl, math league, robotics, and many other choices.

    Some of the colleges that our students were accepted at in 2018 include: UNH, Plymouth State University, Keene State College, Babson College, Bates, Brown, Clarkson University, Colgate, Middlebury, New England Culinary Institute, New England Technical Institute, Northeastern, Norwich University, RPI, Swarthmore, UConn, UMass, UVM, Virgina Tech, and Wentworth Institute. A small percentage of our students entered the military, and about 30% entered the workforce.
    Local residents and organizations supported our scholarship program with a total of over $100,000 this past year. The Friends of Mascoma, Canaan and Enfield Lions Clubs, Enfield Lioness Club, Music Boosters, Athletic Boosters, Football Boosters, The Byrne Foundation, Mascoma Savings Bank and the Walker Foundation are a few of the local organizations who continue to support our academic, extracurricular and athletic programs with their time and money.
