Job Description

Webkidss Executive Director

The Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of WebKIDSS. Other key duties include budgeting, training, and technical assistance. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Responsible for leading WebKIDSS in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.

B. Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.

C. Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of WebKIDSS in a positive financial position.

D. Works with the WebKIDSS Board to develop and implement policies and procedures.

E. Maintain and distribute the WebKIDSS Bylaws.

F. Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff.

G. Responsible for staff evaluations.

H. Provides training for member agencies, includes scheduling, registering, arranging for food, developing/preparing materials and presenting the information.

I. Facilitates program development through maintaining lists of suggestions, needs and concerns.

J. Facilitates Development Group to identify enhancements and features needed to all sections of WebKIDSS. This include focus groups if the need arises.

K. Schedules and facilitates a visioning session for Directors of WebKIDSS agencies.

L. Facilitates monthly team meetings to review progress, address needs and prioritize tasks for the next month.

M. Provides technical assistance, identifies problems and works with Tech team to identify and solve systemic problems.

N. Works with WebKIDSS Developer to make modifications and enhancements to address needs identified by WebKIDSS team, Development Group and/or Board.

O. Serves as a beta tester to evaluate changes made to the program.

P. Creates and deploys WebKIDSS training videos.

Q. Maintains and distributes a directory of current Special Education Directors and Super Administrators for WebKIDSS agencies.

R. Actively monitors the WebKIDSS Help Desk.

S. Provides technical support through email and phone calls.

T. Maintains confidentiality at all times. This includes both WebKIDSS specific and student specific information.

U. Provides positive communication to all member agencies.

V. Provides information to interested agencies as requested.

W. Facilitates database setup for new member agencies.

X. Monitor and participates as necessary in IEP Support Group.

Y. Supports and attends Regions and MIS groups as requested.

Z. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; attending State and National Conferences to stay informed on regulations and changes in the areas that impact WebKIDSS.

  • Job Requirements

    • 1. Work 240 days per annual contract.
      2. Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
      3. Administrative educational experience including technical skills in writing individual education plans.
      4. Ability to work independently in working toward meaningful goals.
      5. Ability to lead others on the administrative team.
      6. Ability to network with client districts / educational entities and build a strong client base of customers.
      7. Ability to train adults in a positive, productive manner.
      8. Ability to diagnose software issues in person and by several other modes of communication, to problem solve, to develop and implement solutions in a timely manner.
      9. Willingness to travel throughout the State of Kansas to network, on site with customers.
      10. Possess excellent customer service skills.
      11. Subject to criminal background check and reference checks.
    • At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred
    • Master degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
