Job Description

The 0.8 FTE PBIS Specialist role includes (but is not limited to):
  • Conducting observations and providing feedback as it aligns to the PBIS framework.

  • Consulting with school leadership to support school decisions regarding intervention programs and strategies for struggling students.

  • Develop and implement a student conduct and citizenship plan.

  • Lead and facilitate Student Conduct Committee.

  • Plan and implement school climate events with student conduct committee.

  • In collaboration with teachers, develop, implement and monitor individual student conduct contracts.

  • Makes accommodations, when necessary, in order for students to be successful in school.

  • Collaborate with grade levels to set and monitor progress toward student conduct and school climate goals.

  • Actively seeks positive parent-teacher relationships and attends all necessary meetings to ensure the child’s needs are being met.

  • Effectively communicate with parents regarding student conduct and citizenship.

  • Understands and follows Policies and Procedures of the Governing Board as implemented and directed through its appointed administrators.

  • In cooperation with administrators and supervisory personnel recommends and assists, as required, in curriculum development and administrative structure change.

  • Develops an understanding of the local community and its educational needs. Brings the community and school together through appropriate programs.

  • Provides support to parents and builds relationships to strengthen the relationship between parents and school to better support the students with their socially and emotionally.

  • Prepares and implements a system for gathering data regarding student conduct, attendance and behavioral progress.

  • Performs other appropriate responsibilities as assigned by the district and school administration.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master’s Degree in educational administration and supervision preferred.

  • Possess a valid Arizona State teaching certificate or administrative certificate.

  • Possess or is working towards a supervisory or administrative certificate preferred.

  • Successful experience teaching in a multicultural setting.

  • Successful experience working with at-risk youth.

  • Successful experience working with parents and community members.

  • Strong communication skills {orally and written} in English and Spanish preferred.

SALARY: 2018-2019 Other Certified Salary Schedule

 

BUDGET ALLOCATION: Title I

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   0.8 FTE, Ten and half (10.5) month employee (Starting two weeks before school starts and two weeks after

the school year ends, per approved School Calendar)
