Job Description

Mosaic Learning Center is looking for an energetic, compassionate and thoughtful individual who has a sense of confidence and curiosity. The Behavioral Interventionist position requires strong communication skills and attention to detail. This individual works directly with our students in a public school environment providing individualized educational and therapeutic instruction.

This position requires skills working with children and young adults who exhibit mild to severe behavioral disorders and developmental disabilities. This individual must be willing to work directly with students who display aggressive and self-injurious behaviors that are complex and intense in school and community environments.

    Job Requirements

    • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
      A. EDUCATION: High School Diploma; Associates Degree or higher preferred.
      B. SPECIAL TRAINING/SKILLS: Good communication and organizational skill; Experience working with students with developmental disabilities; ability to implement educational curriculum and clinical programs; ability to collect data designed track educational and clinical progress. Experience working with individuals with significant challenging behaviors and disabilities.
      C. EXPERIENCE: 2 years of experience working with for individuals 3-22 years old within a public school setting, residential/clinical setting or independent school.
      D. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Employee must have the temperament, agility, strength, and stamina to work directly with students who display aggressive and self-injurious behaviors that are complex and intense in school and community environments. Employee must be able to consistently physically intervene with individuals who may display significant physically aggressive and/or self-injurious behaviors. Frequent bending or stooping, and reaching above shoulder level. Must be able to climb stairs. The ability to physically participate in crisis prevention training. The ability to implement the trained procedures in crisis and/or behavioral situations with students and ability to participate in physical procedures including protective holds and protective escorts.
      E. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Driver's license and current certification in Safety Care will be provided and required. Criminal background check, certification/license within given field. *****This position must be willing to drive to a variety of geographical locations. NE, NW, Central VT. Must have own reliable car and be willing to travel between sites.
      At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
      Bachelors degree preferred
      Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
