Job Description

The School for Exceptional Studies in Lawrence, MA, seeks creative, passionate, and highly skilled paraprofessional to provide services for students in grades 1-12 in a small-school environment within a big-city district.

SES is a great place for staff who have interests and commitments to educational equity, vibrant multicultural environments, academic achievement for students from low-socioeconomic backgrounds, multi-lingual environments, and students working to achieve amidst personal and learning challenges. Part of the pride among faculty and staff at SES is the community feel and strong support—both for students and their families and also for and among faculty and staff.

Students at SES, a therapeutic day school, tend to have diagnosed emotional/behavioral disabilities that make traditional general-ed classrooms and schools ineffective for them. SES provides for these students through very small classrooms with adult supports.
For teachers, this model provides an opportunity to do great work with a small number of students who often deeply appreciate individualized and creative instruction in a fully supported classroom. This is an opportunity to do excellent and meaningful work among colleagues and students who value and support their fellow team members.

SES is committed to providing for students in grades 1-12 a rich academic experience with effective behavioral support and a community environment. If you are a candidate with the following traits, you might be a perfect fit to join our vibrant and rising school community.

Traits sought:
---Minimum of a High School Diploma
