Position: Operations Manager
Location: Match Community Day, 100 Poydras St., Boston, MA
Start Date: ASAP

Match Charter Public School is a free, high-performing charter public school in Boston. We are a PreK-12 school serving 1,250 students. Our mission is to prepare students for success in college and careers in order to achieve economic security and mobility. Students gain acceptance to our schools via an annual blind public lottery open to all Boston residents.

Match is seeking a candidate to join our team as the Operations Manager (OM). The OM will be responsible for a range of operational functions described below, for our Poydras campus. The OM must be a team player (ready to assist with anything and everything) positive, flexible, and able to multitask in a fast paced environment. This is an incredible opportunity for an individual who is passionate about urban education, and excited by the prospect of tackling difficult but rewarding operational challenges on a daily basis.

The OM will report to the Director of Operations (DO), and will work in close collaboration with the leadership team of Match Community Day.


School Wide Operations

The OM will play a pivotal role in managing all activities related to school operations, and assisting to ensuring that school operations processes are streamlined. This includes, but is not limited to:

-Assisting the DO with Budget Process and spending, ordering and tracking spending, and occasionally meeting with the bookkeeping office.
-Daily building maintenance, in close coordination with Match’s Facilities Manager
-Support contact for Boston Public Schools Transportation Office
-Manage the lunch specialists and meal service compliance
-Other operational duties

Procedures and Logistics Coordination
The OM will work in support of the DO to create and effectively execute strong procedures for our building (arrival, dismissal, lunches, etc.) as well as coordinate all logistics for the school including, but not limited to:

Parent/Teacher Conferences
-MCAS testing
-Coordinating field trips
-Coordinating use of shared spaces school wide
-Calendars and schedules

Parents and Community

At Match, we strongly believe in the need to establish partnerships with everyone one of our families through open communication and relentless relationship building. The OM will be responsible, as with every staff member at Match, in this work. This includes, but is not limited to:
Coordinating parent events, such as Parent Nights and Parent Council Meetings
Holding meetings for attendance and/or behavior
Constant communication with families regarding upcoming events

Report Cards/Progress Reports

Teacher and Administrator Support
One of the main jobs of the Operations team is to fully support staff to the highest level. Those on the Operations Team practice excellent customer service at all times. The OM will be a lead example of this on the team. This includes, but is not limited to:

-Attending grade level meetings to address operational concerns and inform teachers of upcoming events
-Technology support in assistance with the Technology Coordinator, including laptops, printers, copy machines, etc.
-Assist teachers and administrators with tasks as needed.

School Safety
-Assist DO in executing drills (safe mode/fire)
-Along with Front Office Manager and school Deans of Culture, lead parent communication for bus suspensions

-At least 2 years of full-time experience, preferably in school;;
-Proficiency with a second language, Spanish or Haitian Creole preferred
-A passion and interest in urban education;
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
-The ability to be extremely detail oriented;
-Unwavering commitment to Match’s mission of college success and beyond;

-Desire to see all students succeed.
