Assistant Teacher Position

Job description:

Responsible for accepting and following the philosophy of the center and programming techniques of the classroom teacher.
Responsible for assisting in daily planning and execution of all classroom and outdoor  activities.
Take sole responsibility of the group for short periods of time as necessary or in emergency situations.
Know all emergency procedures.
Assist in the care of the classroom equipment, supplies, and cleaning.
May assist teacher in relating each child’s day at school with parent on an informal or formal basis.
Assist other staff in cleaning center (toys, equipment, table surfaces,food areas, floor, vacuuming of carpets etc.).
Share with teacher important information gained from casual contact with parent.
Make authorized visitors and parents feel welcome in the classroom.
Willingness to use school time as effectively as possible.

 Must work under the supervision of a lead teacher and be a contributing member of the classroom team.
 Evidence of sufficient maturity and judgment to perform expected duties.
 CPR and First Aide qualified.
 Willingness and interest in learning more about Early Childhood Education
