Job Description

Provide the instructional program for students to reflect the Speech and Language goals of students’ IEPs, either individually or in small groups; complete all required documentation as required by law or by school administration; provide diagnostic assessments and report results; communicate with parents to ensure a cooperative family partnership in accord with the school’s mission and to increase student achievement; participate in Special Education and/or teacher meetings for information/progress-sharing as requested by the Director of Special Education.

    Job Requirements

    • •Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
      •3 years’ experience preferred
      •Massachusetts Speech, Language and Hearing Disorders License
      •Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language-Hearing Association (recommended
      •Strong commitment to education reform initiatives, particularly raising educational equity for low-income and linguistic minority students
      •Experience teaching urban students of Hispanic backgrounds preferred
      •Commitment to the specific mission and goals of LFDCS
      •Demonstrated excellent communication skills (oral and written)
      •Demonstrated interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills
    • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
    • Bachelor degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
