Job Description

Lawrence Family Development Charter School is currently seeking highly skilled and motivated Science Teacher who is passionate about making a difference in students’ lives. The Science Teacher will develop curriculum lessons, provide instruction to Upper School students, and participate in overall planning with other Science teachers and other teaching staff.

•Plan science lessons and post to Schoology each week.
•Teach the science lessons as planned.
•Assess student progress.
•Assist the STEM Coordinator in aligning the curriculum standards with the Massachusetts Common Core Standards.
•Work with STEM Coordinator and other Science teachers on partnerships (both current and future)
•Participate in weekly Common Planning Time Meetings.
•Plan, prepare, and support students for Science Fair.
•Participate in the Response to Intervention meetings assigned grade level.

    Job Requirements

    • •Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree required
      •MA teacher certification
      •3 years’ successful experience as classroom or Science teacher with middle school-age students
      •Demonstrated excellent communication skills (oral and written)
      •Demonstrated interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills
      •Proven ability to communicate well with adults and children
      •Experience teaching urban students of Hispanic backgrounds preferred
    • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
    • Bachelor degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
