Job Description

School Psychologist

The Littleton Public Schools is seeking a School Psychologist to conduct academic and psychological evaluations as well as provide direct service to a caseload of students.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for selecting and administering age appropriate academic and psychological assessments and using assessment information/data to make appropriate educationally relevant recommendations following a comprehensive evaluation. May assist in conducting student observations for re-evaluations and initials.
Responsible for acting as a member of a student's special education team, including presenting at meetings and contributing to the development of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) when a student is found eligible for special education services.
Responsible for providing in-class, individual, and/or small group direct service instruction and intervention to students in order to support access to the curriculum and school environment academically, socially, emotionally and behaviorally.
Responsible for collaborating and consulting regularly with teachers, administrators, and parents/guardians of students being assessed and/or on direct service caseload.
Responsible for collaborating and communicating with outside agencies and service providers (i.e. DMH, DCF, DDS, counselors/therapists, hospitals, and other related agencies/service providers) of students being assessed and/or on direct service caseload.
Responsible for following and maintaining all required procedures and timelines per state, federal and district regulations.
Responsible for participating in building-based student support teams, as needed.
Responsible for participating in building-based special education department staff meetings, district based clinical team meetings and serving as a member of the building-based safety/crisis response team.
Other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Pupil Services and/or School Principal.

    Job Requirements

    • QUALIFICATIONS:
      DESE Certification as a school psychologist.
      Previous experience as a school psychologist at the early childhood - elementary level preferred.
      Candidate must possess strong organizational, communication, interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, service providers, students, families, administrators, and outside agencies.
    • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
