Job Description

The Arlington, Massachusetts Public Schools seeks a special education teacher for Arlington High School. Ideal candidates will effectively participate in collaboration as part of a team that includes general and special education teachers, social workers, related service providers, special education administrators, liaisons, teaching assistants and behavioral support personnel. Consideration will be given to knowledge and prior experience related to curriculum and current state and system mandates to inform effective instructional practice. Co-teaching with general educators is an essential part of this position. Therefore, collaboration is a key skill required.

Preference is also for educators who are licensed in both Special Education and other core subject areas, as well as educators who have experience with co-teaching. Autism experience is also preferred.

Salary level is pursuant to collective bargaining agreement between the Arlington School Committee and Arlington Education Association and will be determined based on education level and previous public school experience.

    Job Requirements

    • All newly hired teachers must have a criminal background check - CORI and Fingerprinting prior to beginning work.

    • At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
    • Master degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
