Job Description

Home-School Attendance Liaison

The Home-School Attendance Liaison will consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, and administrators to develop and implement strategies to reduce student truancy and improve school attendance. The goal of reducing poor attendance and truancy is to locate the underlying reasons for student absenteeism and create intervention plans to increase attendance.

•Prepares and maintains a variety of records and files regarding student attendance.
•Communicates with students and parents regarding attendance and related issues.
•Conducts home visits with a school staff member as needed.
•Connects families in need with Community Service Providers.
•Attends IEP/CST/504 meetings, upon request.
•Prepares correspondence pertaining to student attendance and records as appropriate.
•Facilitates 1:1 meetings with parents and students.
•Provides student attendance information to staff, parents, and authorities as requested.
•Complies with policies, operating procedures, and requirements.
•Works cooperatively with all staff.
•Performs other tasks and assumes other duties as assigned by the administrator.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited college/university. Minimum two years of experience in social work or related field that includes case management and child welfare experience working with children and youth, juvenile delinquency, and/or families.
    • Bachelor degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
