Job Description


The League School of Greater Boston is a year-round program dedicated to the education of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Our team approach to education creates a collaborative, supportive and open environment within our community. We are currently seeking a Part-Time RESIDENTIAL COOK for our residential programs in Walpole to start immediately at $20/hour. Hours are Monday, 8:00 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday – Thursday 9 a.m. through 2:00 p.m.

    Job Requirements

    • Position Requirements:
    • Prior culinary or cooking experience; knowledge of nutrition and special diets
    • Must have HS diploma
    • Must be Serve Safe certified or willing to obtain certification
    • Valid driver’s license

      Supervision Received: Coordinator of Residential Services
      Supervision Exercised: none

      Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
      1) Prepares meals for residents; incorporates dietary needs/preferences of residents into meal planning based on information provided by staff nurse.
      2) Takes inventory of food, beverages and supplies and shops for food weekly.
      3) Maintains weekly food budget. Keeps records and account of all food purchases, and submits to the Coordinator or Residential Services.
      4) Prepares and packages foods, and stores in containers in the refrigerator/freezer.
      5) Portions and arranges food according to standard daily requirements, as provided by school nurse.
      6) Perform necessary maintenance to assure a clean facility as part of the collective effort of all staff. Specific areas of responsibility include kitchen area.
      7) Attends and participates in staff meetings.
      8) Attends all staff trainings as required and mandatory monthly meetings
      9) Performs other related duties as assigned by League School of Greater Boston Administration.



      Computer Skills:
      To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Word: Microsoft Excel: Google mail.
