Job Description

Nativity Prep Wilmington is looking for recent college graduates who are interested in the field of education, but with limited experience. We help train future teachers! Since it is a service program, the pay is limited, but the opportunity is exceptional. Our NDMV/Americorps Resident Teachers get full classroom responsibilities and help run our after-school program. They are fully supported by our full-time staff and administration with personal and professional development. You are never alone! You are provided with housing (if you need it), a living stipend, health insurance, deferred payments for eligible loans, and are eligible for an Educational Award through Americorps where you can pay up to $5,000 per year of service toward student loan debt or in pursuit of an advanced degree.

Nativity Prep is a very small school with less than 50 students enrolled for the start of the 2019-2020 school year. (That is an average class size of less than 15 students!) We are a private, tuition-free Catholic school in the Salesian tradition that serves the under-served in Wilmington, DE and the surrounding area. We participate in an extended school day (5pm dismissal) and an extended school year (mandatory Summer Program). We also support our students and their families through the trials and tribulations of high school, college, and beyond. Our students and their families make a 12+ year commitment to their education in order to help break the cycle of poverty.

If you would like to work for a small community that is making a huge difference, this is it! Our Resident Teachers are the lifeblood of our school and we are looking for people who want to teach, learn, grow, do, and be more.

If you are interested, please submit a cover letter and resume to Principal, Yachira Torres at:
