Job Description

The Director of Advancement is responsible for the Development/Fundraising program at LCA. The person in this position plans, supervises, executes and evaluates all advancement activities and strategy for the school including, but not limited to: annual fund, major and planned gifts, online giving, planning fundraising and other special events, researching new revenue sources, grant writing and corresponding reporting. In addition, the person in this position will serve as the marketing and public relations coordinator for the school. The Director of Advancement reports to the principal, serves as a member of the administrative team and also serves on the Development and Marketing sub-committee of the LCA Board of Trustees.

    Job Requirements

    • Specific Responsibilities:
      • Short term and long-term capital development solicitation, email and direct mail solicitation, cultivation of individual gifts , foundation grants, corporate gifts, annual fund and scholarships
      • Annual Fundraising including special event planning and projects (including volunteer management)
      • Donor Stewardship (Acknowledgement program, donor and gift record-keeping and reports, etc.)
      • Board of Trustees Relations
      • Alumni Relations
      • Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations

      • Enthusiasm, optimism and commitment to working in a Catholic school and living out LCA’s mission
      • Bachelor's Degree. Advanced degree and/or relevant continuing education a plus
      • Experience in professional fundraising preferably in a Catholic environment
      • Experience in designing and managing development and alumni relations programs
      • Experience with developing and maintaining productive working relationships with donors, parents, board members, administrators and faculty
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Professional demeanor in interactions and collaboration with parents, alumni, Board of Trustees and faculty and staff.
      • Ability to work as a leader and as a part of a team
      • Experience working with diverse communities and bilingual (Spanish) a plus
    • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
    • Bachelor degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
