Description:

Effectively serve the Business Office by coordinating and carrying out the accounts payable and other functions for the District. Assist in maintaining a professional, friendly, positive and respectful work atmosphere and provide effective and timely service to the central office clients and customers.

 

Essential Duties:

  1. Manage the entire accounts payable function for the District, including maintaining the vendor database and records; monitoring all purchase orders for account code accuracy and correct vendor information; processing all invoices and payments efficiently, timely, and accurately; and researching questions and resolving discrepancies or problems with payments.
  2. Monitor compliance with the District’s procurement procedures and internal controls.
  3. Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with District personnel and vendors.
  4. Remain up-to-date and knowledgeable about the District’s accounting software.
  5. Perform other tasks and duties in support of Business Office and District needs.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree in accounting preferred.
  2. Accounts payable or general accounting experience, preferred.
  3. Willingness and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to deal effectively and courteously with others.
  4. High degree of organizational skills, time management skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail, and mathematical ability.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
  7. Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
