Job Description

JOB GOAL:
1. To support the School’s rapid acceleration of student achievement by providing educational interventions and progress monitoring for students.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work with individual students or small groups of students to provide educational interventions and progress monitoring.
2. Work with school personnel by assisting in determining Intervention Plan and Individualized Education Program services when appropriate.
3. Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring to insure process fidelity.
4. Attend team/parent meetings as requested; provide input to teams regarding student academic strengths and weaknesses.
5. Provide high quality Tier 2 support to students who are at-risk in reading, writing and/or mathematics.
6. Use identified scientific, research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student difficulties.
7. Maintain data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress during interventions.
8. Provide the high quality instruction time needed to move students to grade level proficiency.
9. Support school-wide assessments and assist with the analysis of the data to identify students in need of intervention services.
10. Provide data to the school teams and participate in decisions about student progress.
11. Utilize tracking system to maintain lists of students participating in interventions.
12. Attend training and professional development as assigned by the Principal.
13. Perform related duties and responsibilities as requested by the Principal.

    Job Requirements

    • QUALIFICATIONS:
      1. Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
      2. Massachusetts Teachers License Elementary 1-6 and/or Special Education PK-8.
      3. Training and experience with Wilson, Orton Gillingham, or other formal reading intervention program preferred.
      4. SEI endorsement or willingness to participate in SEI endorsement course.
      5. Familiarity with or willingness to participate in trainings for Reading Street, My Sidewalks, EnVision Math, DIBELS, Galileo
      assessment system, research-based interventions, and data analysis.
