Job Description

The Pilgrim Area Collaborative Summer Extended School Year (ESY) Program serves students with significant special needs in all grade levels. The programs are an extension of the school year program situated in area public school classrooms. However, many of the activities in the summer are more recreational in nature and include weekly community/field trips.

All classrooms have a high staff-student ration and are staffed with a teacher and one or more paraprofessionals, depending on the number of students and the nature of their disabilities. Therapists round out the team approach in each program.

This year, the SLC Summer Program will run 4 days per week (Mon-Thurs), July 8th through August 15th. The hours are generally 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. daily.

Qualified teacher candidates should have Massachusetts DESE certification in Special Education and experience with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or Social-Emotional Disorders.

For application, qualified candidates should include cover letter, resume, transcripts, certification and 3 letters of professional reference.
