Job Description

Summary:

Under the direction of Secondary Education Director, the Recreation Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and supervising students engaged in weekend activities.


Responsibilities:

Survey students who stay weekends on to find interest around activities
Work with cottage staff on empowering students to develop weekend plan
Coordinate with existing weekend activities coordinators (pool, PE teachers, GCST staff) to offer a full complement of weekend experiences
Budget and use gift funded resources to support off campus activities
Adapt materials to full engage students in activities (board games)

    Job Requirements

    • Minimum Requirements:

      Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive school vehicles including chair cars
      Ability to be med cleared
      Recreational Therapist or college student, HS School diploma;
      Experience working with special needs children;
      First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Crisis Prevention and Physical Intervention (CPPI) Certification required, or able to attend the training Perkins provided
    • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
    • High School/Trade School degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
