Job Description

Assist in the discipline of all students (all grades); assist in the supervision of all security personnel for Chelsea High School; responsible for and supervise detention before, after and during school, conduct parental conferences; act as a liaison with certain community organizations; prepare for court appearances; conduct status hearings; serve as liaison with social services and community agencies; coordinate school-based meetings with social workers, guidance and deans; attend IST meetings if needed; facilitate parent outreach and involvement; and assist with coverage of cafeteria during lunches; is required to work beyond the regular school day to meet with parents, individual or groups of students and staff; athletic teams; and perform other duties as directed by the Principal or Assistant Principals.
Participate in weekly Dean PLC and strategic planning for school-wide student support initiatives, coach teachers on behavior management strategies in support of the school-wide plan, facilitate student groups to develop student skills. Support the development and implementation of Advisory curriculum.
Coordinate student data for required reporting; participate on leadership team for NCLB/SIP plan development; coordinate, and when necessary, present appropriate grant work and/or professional development activities; attend leadership meetings.

    Job Requirements

    • 1. A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university;
      2. Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education teacher licensure in grade and subject area appropriate for the assignment;
      3. Ability to work with diverse population;
      4. Knowledge of MA Curriculum frameworks, , curriculum, instruction, and assessment;
      5. Knowledge of differentiated instruction and response to intervention helpful

      Must be able to attend orientation August 19 - 22, 2019
