Job Description

Beaver Country Day School seeks an Upper School Science teacher with a primary focus in Biology. Responsibilities will include teaching appropriate core-curriculum science courses (primarily 11th grade Biology Foundations), as well as Biology Applications electives in the 11th and 12th grades (primarily DNA & Genetics, Anatomy & Physiology, Environmental Science, Neuroscience and possibly others).

Beaver puts an emphasis on project-based learning through a collaborative, inquiry-based approach, where open-ended experimentation and design play a significant role in the science classroom. Competitive candidates will demonstrate content expertise, knowledge in differentiated instruction and assessment, willingness and ability to collaborate and implement innovative pedagogical initiatives, including technology, that focus on a student-first, hands-on, experiential learning. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and management skills are essential to the role, as is a willingness to participate fully in the community beyond the classroom.

Candidates with Master’s Degree and/or 2-3 years teaching experience preferred.
