ESY Secondary LSP Teachers

July 8, 2019 to August 15, 2019
Hours: M, T, W 8 :00 -12:00; TH 8:00 - 2:00
Salary: $30/hr. certified teachers

Learning Support teachers are responsible planning and implementing a classroom structure and activities to stimulate student interest while incorporating ELA and Math skill review to prevent substantial regression over the summer.

Learning Support teachers will be responsible for targeting highlighted IEP goals and objectives, as well as writing brief progress reports for individual students at the conclusion of Extended School Year program. Progress reports for students on IEPs will be written in collaboration with other specialists reporting student learning and progress or maintenance related to IEP goals.

Learning Support teachers will be responsible for overseeing all schedules of both Instructional Assistants and students throughout the Extended School Year program. Along with Instructional Assistants, Learning Support Teacher will be responsible for student arrival, dismissal, and transition to the related services and afternoon programs, when appropriate.

Candidates should have experience supporting students with disabilities including cognitive, physical, and emotional disabilities. Students may require support around academic, therapeutic, social, or personal care (toileting, dressing or eating) activities. Successful candidates will collaborate with therapists and extended day staff to ensure coordinated service delivery.
